Bicycle-Rally-Multi Sport Weekend Info Sheet

- Sturgis Regional Park
on the Assiniboine River in Sturgis, SK, approx. 40 km
north of Canora
on highway 9, will
be our headquarters for the weekend. Most folks will arrive Friday pm
- Camping is $10 a night unserviced, $17 with electricity.
- Showers are $1.
- Water is posted, bring potabale water or boil for 1 minute
- Picnic shelter, nice wooded campsites beside the river
- If you don't camp, there is a motel: Sturgis
Motel, 1 block from campground, 306-548-2965. Looks clean,
neat and basic from outside.
Carol Fonger's cottage is at Crystal Lake. There will be a
canoe, a kayak or two, and a paddle boat available, but you are welcome
to bring your own. If you plan to partake in water sports and have your
own pfd, please bring it. The 9 hole golf course is across
the road from Carol's and is in great shape. Bring your
clubs.
Saturday potluck will be at Carol's . Marion will do either brats in beer or pulled pork.

Proposed Rides
(Determined by participants, weather and interest. It's mostly pavement with some gravel and double track lane sections)
Ride
1-Saturday: 11 am from campground.

total -9 km on double track Trans Canada Trail) return via highway.
A relatively short ride so we can return to Carol's for a chance to
play in the water at Crystal Lake and/or golf followed by a WFW Potluck
(at Carol's unless numbers get very large. Note - there are
some extra loops on the pdf map

-Sunday: ( time to be determined) Norquay -Pelly, Ft. Livingstone
Museum, Ft.
Livingstone
site
43km return including (13 km
gravel, 6 km double track from Pelly to Ft. Livingstone site. We will
drive to the starting point.

Ft. Livingstone site - If you want a longer ride , it's easily accomodated.
- Highlights: Norquay - Whistle Stop Restaurant open 6 am-9
pmm - Sunday smorg beginning at 4. Murals, bakery closed on
Sunday
- Highlights: Pelly - Museum open Sundays 1-6
- Highlights - Fort Livingstone site 6.3 km (gravel) N of town, then 3
km double track - monument and possibly garter snakes - there's a
hibernaculum on the site
Ride 3 Monday:
(time to be determined) Sturgis-Tadmore- Crystal Lake Loop (approx 40 km about 6 km gravel)
